Now in Spanish: the Marist Places of Origin Booklet

Marists

We are pleased to announce the official publication of the Spanish edition of the Marist Places of Origin booklet commemorating the 150th anniversary of the death of our founder, Fr Jean-Claude Colin. This release follows a year of remembrance, during which communities across Europe and the world gathered in prayer, commemoration and a pilgrimage in the footsteps of Fr Colin. This booklet compiles the materials and talks shared during that pilgrimage. By reflecting on his passing on the 15th of November 1875, these anniversary initiatives have successfully revitalised his vision of a humble, missionary Church. As Fr Colin often said, we are called to act "as if hidden and unknown" in the spirit of Mary.

Joining the existing French and English versions, this new Spanish translation makes Father Colin’s foundational charism accessible to a wider global audience. The booklet explores the key locations that shaped his vision and the birth of the Society of Mary, featuring commentary on the Society's early moments. Two centuries later, Fr. Colin's legacy still deeply resonates. By sharing these resources, the Province of Europe invites everyone to re-engage with the Marist spiritual journey.
