Fürstenzell

Since 1931, the Marists are present in Fürstenzell in Lower Bavaria. They founded a school in a former Cistercian monastery, and for several decades, the house was also the home for the seminarians. Today the community of retired Marists live in a smaller building beside the former Cistercian residence.

Meppen

In 1899, the Marists settled in Meppen, a town in north-western Germany. They founded a school to educate boys from the surrounding villages, many of whom became missionaries in Oceania. Today, a community of retired Marists live attached to the old building which houses the diocesan run school, Gymnasium Marianum.

Passau

In 1978, the Marists opened a community in Passau to be close to the local university. The members of the community are responsible for the Votivkirche, an oratory for prayer and Eucharistic adoration in the pedestrian zone in the city centre. As part of their mission they organise the telephone counselling service in collaboration with a large team of volunteers.
