Mission
Being Mary’s Presence
The Society of Mary in the European Province is composed of priests and brothers working in collaboration with our lay partners in mission. We reach out to all people — especially those who are on the margins of the Church and society. In Europe we serve especially through education, in general pastoral care in parishes and places of worship, in ministries showing solidarity with people who are excluded and marginalised, and welcoming people who are seeking meaning in life.
Truly missionary
We undertake a diverse range of apostolic activities. Since our call is to be “truly missionary”, we are called to establish the Church where it does not exist and to renew existing communities rather than to participate in activities and places where the Church is already established with sufficient resources. Our apostolic work takes us to churches, schools, prisons, hospitals, and ministry with homeless people, refugees, migrants in our European countries and overseas.
