In preparation for the Holy Year 1950, the Marists undertook two large building projects on the outskirts of Rome, the school of St John the Evangelist and the parish church dedicated to St Francesca Cabrini. The school was closed in 2017 and the Marymount Foundation continues to run an educational project there. Today the third and fourth floors of the same building accommodates the Marist international formation house, the Casa di Maria. The parish of St Francesca Cabrini inaugurated in 1959,  was one of the first parishes in Rome to welcome the new ecclesial movement, the Neocatechumenal Way in 1969.
