Marist in Europe

being Mary’s presence
in the world

We are religious and lay people, women and men who strive follow Christ in the manner of Mary in the Roman Catholic tradition.

The Marist Fathers and Brothers of the Society of Mary in Europe form part of an international religious congregation.

Strength in Unity

In the European Province – uniting communities from Italy, Ireland, Germany, Spain, England, Norway, France and the Netherlands – we respond to the call of Jesus Christ and proclaim the Gospel under Mary’s name and guidance.

Putting the Gospel into action for us means thinking, judging, feeling and acting as Mary did, in the culture of Europe today.

What’s happening in the Province?

Celebrating the Feast of “The Holy Name of Mary”

As we commemorate this feast, we are reminded of Mary’s profound influence and her role as a powerful intercessor for the faithful. From the beginning, Marists have seen their relationship with Mary as a sort of covenant with rights and responsibilities on each side.
