The re-newed provincial council met in Paris for the first time in early November 2025.

We spent the final day of our wonderful pilgrimage in La Neylière, our Marist house of prayer.

After about a two-hour bus journey, we arrived in Belley, the Birthplace of the Society of Mary.

Some lives make noise; others change the world in silence. Jean-Claude Colin was born in 1790 in St Bonnet-le-Troncy, France, during the time of the Revolution. He was a shy boy with a strong faith. He really loved silence in the middle of the forest, where he was able to find God in stillness.

Our visit to the places of Marist origin continued in Cerdon, the village where Father Colin served as parish priest.

The second day of our pilgrimage focused on the promise that the 12 seminarians, some of whom had recently been ordained priests, signed at Fourvière in 1816.

To celebrate the 150th anniversary of the death of our founder, Father Jean Claude Colin a Marist team has organised a pilgrimage in the footsteps of Father Colin to the Marist Places of Origin from 10 to 15 November 2025.

The 30th General Chapter of the Society of Mary took place in Nemi, Italy from 16 September – 5 October 2025. For three weeks we lived this mysterious experience called the Chapter, where each one sought the good of our little Society…

From 19-21 September 2025, the Lay Marists of Germany gathered in Osnabrück in the house of the Missionary Sisters of Mary for their second meeting of the year for a retreat day.

In our Marist tradition we are very familiar with expressions like having a vocation by virtue of a gracious choice or doing the work of Mary.
