In the Footsteps of Father Colin

Marists

At the request of the Superior General a coordination team has been set up to offer proposals for celebrating the 150th anniversary of the death of our founder, Father Jean Claude Colin.

One of the highlights on the program will be a pilgrimage in the footsteps of Father Colin to the Marist Places of Origin from 10 to 15 November 2025. The pilgrims will reside at La Neylière and visit every day a significant place for our common Marist History: St Bonnet-le-Troncy, Fourvière, Cerdon, Belley.

The Pilgrimage will conclude with a significant celebration at La Neylière on 15 November. In the hope that there will be representatives from all Marist units, confreres who are interested to participate, are invited to contact their Major Superior. A form is attached here in ENGLISH and FRENCH.

Some lives make noise; others change the world in silence. Jean-Claude Colin was born in 1790 in St Bonnet-le-Troncy, France, during the time of the Revolution. He was a shy boy with a strong faith. He really loved silence in the middle of the forest, where he was able to find God in stillness.
