\"Mariasamfunnet\" ble f\u00f8dt 23. juli 1816, ved Notre-Dame de Fourvi\u00e8re-helligdommen (i Lyon, Frankrike).<\/p>\n

Grunnleggerne: en gruppe p\u00e5 tolv seminarister, blant dem Jean-Claude Colin og Marcellin Champagnat. Deres visjon ble altomfattende: Dette \"Mariasamfunnet\" som de forpliktet seg til, skulle i \u00e9n og samme bevegelse omfatte prester, br\u00f8dre, s\u00f8stre og en tredje orden av lekfolk. Med pater Jean Claude Colin ble grunnleggelsen av et selskap med Marias navn \"for \u00e5m\u00f8te de store behovene til menneskene<\/strong>\" en realitet. Maristbr\u00f8drene ble stiftet i 1817<\/strong> som et svar p\u00e5 de unges og de fattiges \u00e5ndelige, utdanningsmessige og fysiske behov. Grunnleggeren, en ung fransk maristpater, Marcellin Champagnat, var en del av Fourvi\u00e8re-gruppen p\u00e5 tolv, og han svarte p\u00e5 disse behovene ved \u00e5 utdanne unge menn til l\u00e6rere. Den f\u00f8rste kvinnegrenen av Mariasamfunnet startet i Frankrike i Cerdon i 1817 og fortsatte \u00e5 utvikle seg i Belley, takket v\u00e6re Jeanne Marie Chavoins innsikt og iver. Marists\u00f8strene anerkjenner Jean-Claude Colin som sin grunnlegger og Jeanne-Marie Chavoin som sin grunnleggerinne. Grunnlagt av Fran\u00e7oise Perroton<\/strong>, en fransk legkvinne som reiste til \u00f8ya Wallis i Oseania i 1845, ikke lenge etter at de f\u00f8rste maristfedrene ankom dit. Hun levde som medlem av Marias tredje orden og tjente s\u00e6rlig kvinnene og barna p\u00e5 \u00f8ya. I 1931 ble Misjon\u00e6rs\u00f8strene i Mariasamfunnet godkjent som ordenskongregasjon. <\/p>\n

Den opprinnelige visjonen for Maristprosjektet var at \"hele verden skulle bli marist\", gjennom utallige lekfolks liv i Marias \u00e5nd<\/strong>. Lekfolkets engasjement i Maristfamilien ble formet av den hellige Julian Eymard som Mariasamfunnets tredje orden. Siden har det utviklet seg til et bredt spekter av maristgrupper av troende lekfolk i ulike deler av verden. Uansett navn samler disse gruppene menn og kvinner, gifte og enslige, familier og venner, som \u00f8nsker \u00e5 bli inspirert av maristenes intuisjon for \u00e5 leve ut sitt engasjement som lekfolk i kirken og i verden. <\/p>\n
