Ze hebben me geholpen om me bewust te worden van het immense voorrecht en de verantwoordelijkheid die het vieren van de Eucharistie met zich meebrengt. Vaak ben ik diep geraakt door de genade van het moment, door de mensen die aanwezig zijn, door de kinderen die schreeuwen of de baby's die huilen, want alles is de aanwezigheid van Christus - die mannen en vrouwen, die kerk, die velden, die bergen, de vallende regen, elk hart, elke traan, elke vreugde en elk verdriet - ze vormen allemaal het Lichaam van Christus. 42 jaar Eucharistie vieren - onvergetelijke, prachtige, tragische momenten! Momenten waarop ik blij was priester te zijn en momenten waarop ik meer wilde doen voor die zieke mensen, voor die gehandicapte kinderen, voor die wezen of voor die weduwe; momenten waarop ik niet begreep dat God mij om DIT vroeg en om niets anders. Momenten waarop ik me de gelukkigste mens voelde, duizendmaal gezegend door vrienden, door familie, zelfs door vreemden. Prachtige momenten waarop ik probeerde om Christus dichter bij anderen te brengen.      <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Ik wil die missen met jullie delen, die momenten waarop Christus zich echt onder ons presenteerde. Ik deel ze met een dankbaar en nederig hart.
