Sommige van onze confraters Maristen wonen in Europese landen waar onafhankelijke nationale commissies de afhandeling van gevallen door kerkelijke autoriteiten onder de loep hebben genomen.   <\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{\"201341983\":0,\"335559739\":0,\"335559740\":240}\"> <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-ccp-props=\"{\"201341983\":0,\"335559739\":0,\"335559740\":240}\"> <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Geen enkele beschouwing over onze realiteit van vandaag kan voorbijgaan aan de realiteit van de slachtoffers en de schaduw die dit werpt op ons als religieus lichaam. We voelen mee met degenen onder ons die op verschillende manieren onder dit lijden gebukt gaan.   <\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{\"201341983\":0,\"335559739\":0,\"335559740\":240}\"> <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-ccp-props=\"{\"201341983\":0,\"335559739\":0,\"335559740\":240}\"> <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">We kunnen geen vooruitgang boeken zonder naar de slachtoffers te luisteren en van hen te leren welke impact deze daden op hun leven hebben. Als we hun ervaring niet erkennen en geen verantwoordelijkheid nemen voor onze eigen fouten, verliezen we elke geloofwaardigheid als religieus. Hoewel we in de verleiding kunnen komen om niet de hele waarheid over ons verleden te erkennen, is dat niet in het belang van de Kerk of de Soci\u00ebteit van Maria.    <\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{\"201341983\":0,\"335559739\":0,\"335559740\":240}\"> <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-ccp-props=\"{\"201341983\":0,\"335559739\":0,\"335559740\":240}\"> <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Het beschermen van de kwetsbaren is een dienst en onze missie. Het blijft voor ons van het grootste belang om \"een cultuur van bescherming te bevorderen in onze eigen huizen, in onze bedieningen, in onze instellingen en op alle plaatsen waar we werken en waar we zijn...\" (GC2017, nr. 40).   <\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{\"201341983\":0,\"335559739\":0,\"335559740\":240}\"> <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-ccp-props=\"{\"201341983\":0,\"335559739\":0,\"335559740\":240}\"> <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">De Europese Provincie is dankbaar voor de leken en religieuzen die namens ons de verantwoordelijkheid dragen voor deze bediening.
