Vanaf het begin heeft het Maristenproject - samen met de paters, broeders, zusters en missiezusters - een tak beoogd die openstaat voor lekenvrouwen en -mannen, een vereniging die beschikbaar is voor alle mensen<\/strong>, ongeacht hun situatie, leeftijd of toestand. Allen zijn onmisbare leden van het lichaam van Maria’s Soci\u00ebteit, die de gemeenschappelijke zending<\/strong> delen om het Werk van Maria<\/strong> in de wereld te doen en te zijn<\/strong> - om een gemeenschap van gelovigen op te bouwen met \u00e9\u00e9n geest en \u00e9\u00e9n hart. <\/p>\n

Over de hele wereld zijn er diverse Maristenlekengroepen en verenigingsvormen<\/strong>. We zien een groeiend verlangen bij deze groepen om betrokken te zijn bij het Maristenproject en hun begrip van het Maristencharisma en de daaruit voortvloeiende werken te verdiepen. Samen met de andere takken bouwt Marist Laity aan het Mariale gezicht van de kerk. Hun christelijke identiteit wordt gevormd door Maristenspiritualiteit en -zending, terwijl ze ernaar streven Maria’s aanwezigheid in de wereld te zijn. <\/p>\n

In 2007 richtten Marist Laity-groepen in Europa een co\u00f6rdinatiegroep op met regelmatige bijeenkomsten om hun inspanningen als lekenafdeling van de Maristenfamilie te co\u00f6rdineren.
