Il progetto marista nacque in seguito alla <\/span>Rivoluzione francese<\/b>Questo fu un periodo di agitazione e incertezza, con una divisione tra la Chiesa e la societ\u00e0 francese. C’era un movimento per ripristinare la posizione di potere della Chiesa, mentre altri, tra cui i Maristi, cercavano una nuova via da seguire. Essi riconobbero che la gente del loro tempo aveva bisogno di ascoltare il Vangelo da una Chiesa pi\u00f9 umile, discreta e modesta, modellata sulla Madre di Ges\u00f9. <\/span><\/p>\n

La Societ\u00e0 di Maria ebbe inizio nel Santuario di Nostra Signora a Fourvi\u00e8re a Lione, in Francia, il 23 luglio 1816, quando dodici seminaristi, tra cui il fondatore Jean Claude Colin, salirono i ripidi gradini che portavano in cima alla collina di Fourvi\u00e8re e si dedicarono a Maria. Promisero di dare inizio a un nuovo ordine religioso nella Chiesa, un gruppo chiamato \"Maria-isti\", e si impegnarono a dedicare la loro vita al servizio degli altri nello spirito di Maria. <\/span><\/p>\n
